SAIDIAN, Germany’s Melodic Metal sensation from 2005, is ready to take the world by storm now! It all started back in 2004, when Keyboarder Markus Bohr founded the band. He was playing with several outfits and members before, but with Markus Engelfried (vocals), Manuel Glassmann (bass), Rodrigo Blattert (guitars) and drummer Stefan Dittrich he found the right sidemen to bring the world his vision of Melodic Heavy Metal.

Shortly after the recordings of the debut album “For Those Who Walk the Path Forlorn” with producer Vagelis Maranis (ex- singer of SANVOISEN), the band inked a world-wide multi-album deal with? German based label METAL HEAVEN (ALTARIA, BLOODBOUND, PUMP). The album also was released in Japan and very well received over there.

To promote the CD, SAIDIAN hit the road in Fall 2005 with JON OLIVA’S PAIN, the new band of SAVATAGE singer and mainman Jon Oliva. Both bands became friends during the tour and Jon Oliva decided to sing a short verse on the track “Crown Of Creation”, which was, also like the rest of “Phoenix”, again produced by Vagelis Maranis.

Before they entered the studio, the band had to part ways with drummer Stefan Ditrich, but with ex- PRIMAL FEAR drummer Klaus Sperling (SINNER, MY DARKEST HATE) they found more than a phantastic replacement for the recording of “Phoenix”. By surching for a new Drummer as a firm member of the band, the ways crossed with Bernd Heining in Sept. 2006. Klaus and Bernd are sharing the backup-jobs at Chinchilla and Bernd is occasionally playing the drums with the Bastards.

“Phoenix” shows SAIDIAN? from their harder side than on the first album. The band grew together and the song-writing process turned out to be more teamwork this time. Listen to songs like “State of Euphoria”, the powerful “Fallen hero” or the headbanging title track and you’ll hear fantastic guitar work, an ass-kickin rhythm section and outstanding vocal performances of singer Markus “Angel” Engelfried.
